🇧🇷 A arte chinesa de cortar papel, em mandarim jiǎnzhǐ (剪纸), é uma prática milenar desenvolvida desde que o papel foi inventado por Cai Lun, durante a dinastia Han. Tornou-se bastante difundida entre o povo chinês ao longo de milhares de anos. Apesar desta prática ter se espalhado também pelo mundo, adquirindo assim características culturais de cada local, a China é reconhecida como sua criadora, sendo o único país no qual a técnica é reconhecida pela UNESCO como parte da cultura imaterial. Hoje em dia os ‘papéis recortados’ são utilizados durante os festivais tradicionais chineses, particularmente no Ano Novo Chinês.

🇧🇷 A caligrafia chinesa refere-se à arte de escrever e suas técnicas com pincéis destinados especialmente a esta finalidade. Pincéis, tintas, papéis e placas de cerâmica são as ferramentas básicas para a realização da caligrafia tradicional chinesa. Por milhares de anos, a caligrafia chinesa representa o gosto estético e a filosofia deste povo.

🇺🇸 Chinese calligraphy refers to the art of writing and its techniques with brushes designed especially for this purpose. Brushes, inks, papers and ceramic plates are the basic tools for performing traditional Chinese calligraphy. For thousands of years, Chinese calligraphy has represented the aesthetic taste and philosophy of this people.

Uma das principais filosofias que envolve o Kung Fu, e que tem relação com a cultura chinesa, é a busca pela harmonia entre as coisas. Por isso, muitos utilizam o símbolo “yin e yang” para representar essa arte marcial. É a busca pelo equilíbrio perfeito que faz com que os praticantes trabalhem não só o corpo, mas também a mente.

One of the main philosophies that involves Kung Fu, and which is related to Chinese culture, is the search for harmony between things. Therefore, many use the symbol “yin and yang” to represent this martial art. It is the search for perfect balance that makes practitioners work not only with the body, but also with the mind.

🇧🇷 Tai Chi Chuan é uma arte marcial que faz parte dos costumes e da cultura chinesa, sendo considerada uma das maiores heranças culturais da China. O estilo da arte marcial Tai Chi Chuan é suave e, diferentemente das outras artes marciais que trabalham a agilidade e a tensão muscular, a prática de Tai Chi Chuan favorece o relaxamento dos músculos. O Tai Chi Chuan é considerado uma meditação através de movimentos.

🇺🇸 Tai Chi Chuan is a martial art that is part of Chinese customs and culture, being considered one of the greatest cultural heritages of China. The style of the martial art Tai Chi Chuan is gentle and, unlike other martial arts that work on agility and muscle tension, the practice of Tai Chi Chuan favors the relaxation of muscles. Tai Chi Chuan is considered a meditation through movements.

🇨🇳 太极拳是中国武术的一种，也是中国民俗文化的一部分，是中国最伟大的文化遗产之一。太极拳的风格是柔和、缓慢、轻灵、刚柔并济的，与其他锻炼敏捷度和肌肉紧张感的武术不同的是，练习太极拳有助于肌肉的放松。 太极拳被认为是通过动作而进行的冥想。

🇧🇷 Atividade de interação com o público na qual os professores do Instituto Confúcio, tendo por base a fonética (sonoridade) dos nomes em português de cada participante, propõem um nome chinês aos mesmos. Em geral, os professores evidenciam a semelhança sonora entre o nome português e o chinês por meio da elocução em voz alta (ensinando os tons na língua chinesa) e da escrita em pincel e nanquim (anotando em caracteres e pinyin o nome chinês de cada participante).

🇺🇸 This is an interactive activity in which teachers from the Confucius Institute, based on the phonetics (sound) of each participant’s Portuguese name, suggest a Chinese name for each participant. In general, the teachers highlight the sound similarity between the Portuguese and Chinese names by saying them out loud (teaching the tones in the Chinese language) and writing them in brush and ink (writing down each participant’s Chinese name in characters and pinyin).
